Roberto M. Lang, MD, is an internationally renowned cardiologist and specialist in echocardiography, the study of heart function using sound waves. Dr. Lang uses his vast knowledge of cardiac imaging techniques to evaluate patients with a wide variety of heart conditions, including heart failure and valve disease.
Dr. Lang was a pioneer in the development of three-dimensional echocardiography, a state-of-the-art method to observe heart function.

Since 2003 he's working as a member of the high perfomance computing group of Cilea (interuniversity consortium established in 1974, provides information and communication technology services on behalf of universities and related organizations, public organizations and enterprises).
In 2007 he finished his PhD in Bioengineering with a Thesis entitled "Computational modelling of local haemodynamics phenomena: methods, tools and clinical applications". His working domain include also enablig application for grid-computing environment and teaching C++ and object oriented programming technique. His research interests include optimisations of codes, multiscale models in haemodynamics, grid-computing and scientific visualization. [read less]
